Dashboard and Report Commenting

Add threaded comments to dashboards and individual reports, mention team members for Slack notifications, attach images, and resolve discussions to streamline cross-functional collaboration.

Commenting on Dashboards

Enhance collaboration by commenting on individual Reports or the entire Dashboard.

Leave a Comment

  1. Click the Speech Bubble Icon at the bottom of your Dashboard.
  2. Click on a Report or a blank space to comment on the Report widget or the Dashboard.
  3. Type your comment and confirm with the Blue Arrow Icon.

View All Comments

  1. Click the Speech Bubble Icon in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Comment thread you wish to view. Clicking a comment on a Report will navigate to that Report.

A red dot on the sidebar's Comments Icon indicates new comments.

Respond to a Comment

  1. Click the Speech Bubble Icon on a Report or in the sidebar.
  2. Type your response in the text box below the original comment.
  3. Confirm with the Blue Arrow Icon.

Edit a Comment

  1. Click the Speech Bubble Icon in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Comment thread to edit.
  3. Click the three dots next to the Comment, select Edit, and modify your message.

Resolve a Thread of Comments

  1. Open a Comment.
  2. Click the Circled Checkmark Icon to resolve the comment chain.

Delete a Comment

  1. Open a Comment thread.
  2. Click the three dots next to any comment (except the first one) and select Delete.

Add Images

  1. Create a new comment.
  2. Click the Image Icon.
  3. Upload your image with the Blue Arrow Icon.

Slack Enabled Commenting

Mention other Kubit users to notify them via Slack, provided their Slack integration is set up. For setup, refer to our Integrate Kubit with Slack guide.

Set Up a Slack Channel for Comment Updates

  1. As a Dashboard Manager, click the Gear Icon in the comment sidebar.
  2. Select a channel to receive comment updates.

Mention Other Users

  1. Create a comment.
  2. Use the @ icon to mention a user. Notifications will be sent to their Slack.

Note: Once mentioned, users will continue to receive thread updates.

Slack Commenting Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with Slack notifications, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the App Integration from Slack by clicking the X in the Apps section.
  2. In Kubit, go to Personal Settings via the User Icon.
  3. Disconnect and reconnect Slack in the Slack Integration section.

Reconnect to Slack and test commenting functionality.
